A proclamation was signed by Governor Pillen and members of the Nebraska Construction Industry Council on May 4th, 2023, creating Hard Hat Week from May 1-5, 2023. This week is meant to honor and acknowledge Nebraska high school seniors who will be pursuing construction-related training programs or employment.
The proclamation made by Governor Pillen highlights Nebraska’s dedication to the construction industry by encouraging students to pursue construction careers as a rewarding option after high school.
The construction industry offers a wide range of career paths, from carpentry and electrical work to project management, providing ample space for professional growth. As Nebraska’s construction industry continues to grow, there is an increasing demand for skilled workers to contribute to road and infrastructure development, residential construction, and commercial projects.
Hard Hat Week serves as a unique initiative to celebrate and empower graduating high school seniors in Nebraska who choose construction-related education or employment. By recognizing their achievements and encouraging their pursuit of construction careers, the state is fostering a skilled workforce, boosting the construction industry, and building a prosperous future for Nebraska.
